This nut-free pesto is perfect for those with allergies or anyone looking for a lighter twist on the classic pesto. Made with fresh basil, garlic, Parmesan, and olive oil, this vibrant green sauce will elevate pasta, sandwiches, and more!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh basil
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 23 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Place fresh basil, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic, olive oil, and lemon juice in a food processor.
  2. Blend until smooth, scraping the sides as needed.
  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. If the pesto is too thick, add more olive oil to reach your desired consistency.
  5. Serve with pasta, as a sandwich spread, or drizzle over grilled meats and vegetables.

Notes

You can customize your pesto with other herbs or cheeses to suit your tastes. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week, or freeze for later use.
