Instructions
- For loukoumi: Dissolve sugar in water over medium heat. Stir until boiling.
- Add lemon juice, reduce heat, and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Mix cornstarch with water to form a paste, then stir it into the syrup until thickened.
- Remove from heat, add rosewater, and pour into greased 8×8 pan. Let set for 4 hours.
- Cut into squares and dust with powdered sugar.
- For mastic candy: Combine sugar, water, and lemon juice in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves.
- Add mastic resin and boil until it reaches 240°F.
- Pour into a greased mold or tray, cool for 30 minutes, then break into pieces.
