My Culinary Journey

Growing up in a small town in Oregon, I was surrounded by the aromas of my grandmother’s kitchen. She was my first teacher, teaching me the art of baking hearty bread and crafting sauces from scratch. At 18, I moved to New York City to pursue my passion, enrolling in the prestigious Culinary Institute of America (CIA). There, I honed my skills in French cuisine, mastering techniques like sous-vide and pastry artistry under world-renowned chefs.

After graduating, I worked in top-tier restaurants, including a two-year stint as a sous-chef at Le Bernardin, where I earned recognition for my innovative seafood dishes. My career took me across the globe—Italy, where I learned the secrets of authentic pasta-making, and Thailand, where I fell in love with the balance of spicy and sweet flavors. These experiences shaped my philosophy: cooking is about love, creativity, and bringing people together.

After years in professional kitchens, I decided to return to my roots and connect with home cooks. In 2020, I launched recipeyz.com to share recipes that are approachable yet packed with flavor—perfect for busy moms, food enthusiasts, and anyone who loves a good meal. From 6-ingredient wonders to family favorites, my recipes are designed to inspire your kitchen with minimal fuss and maximum taste.

I’m also passionate about sustainability, often incorporating seasonal ingredients and tips to reduce food waste. Whether it’s a quick weeknight dinner or a decadent dessert, I pour my heart into every recipe, hoping to spark joy in your cooking journey.
